Greens will help you save Energy, save Money and save the Planet

Energy prices are only going to go up and the best way to save money is not to use the energy in the first place.  We will help you manage your energy costs by providing funds for home insulation and enable you to do your bit in the battle against climate change.

A Green economy would reduce demand for energy to a sustainable minimum, and obtain its energy from renewable sources. Energy would be generated, stored and distributed as close to the point of use as practicable and efficient, with local control.  Our immediate aims would focus on:

• Reducing demand for fossil fuels as rapidly as possible by inducing industry, householders and the public sector to invest in energy conservation and micro generation, that is very local generation of electricity;
• Reducing drastically and, if possible, eliminating the pollution caused by burning coal and oil; and
• Promoting the  full use of currently available renewable energy sources for heat, electricity and transport and provide the necessary support for the relevant markets and industries to grow.
• We also support the development of tidal lagoons in the Severn.
• We oppose nuclear power, and the building of nuclear power stations.

We would push for planning laws to include provision for energy saving measures in all new builds such as solar power, water conservation and insulation.
