The Green Parties in Bristol oppose the principle of selling of some land to pay for upkeep of the remaining Parks and Green Spaces.

A particular example of this is the Castle Park proposal.

The Green Party on Tuesday urged Bristolians to oppose public spending cuts and fight for their green spaces as Bristol City Council met for its first full session since the summer break.

The Big Questions

  • Should Bristol City Council sell off land, partly to pay for the upkeep of its remaining parks and open spaces?
  • Should it also use the money raised for other purposes?
  • Or should it not commit to selling a fixed proportion of land at all?

The three main parties say YES, YES, and NO

The Green Party says NO, NO and YES
