Both of Bristol’s Green councillors have welcomed the Evening Post’s call for an Integrated Transport Authority (ITA.)
Tess Green (Southville) said;

"I am pleased that the Evening Post has outlined such a sensible solution to the traffic nightmare in Bristol.  It is obvious to most people that we need to get on with putting in a decent transport system which takes passengers off the roads.   The Green party welcomes the Evening Post's campaign for an Integrated Transport Authority.

Cllr. Green continued:

“Increased bus and rail powers and greater control, along with smartcards and better public transport information, will result in the quality of public transport system you would expect to find in a prospective Green Capital of Europe.”

Her colleague Gus Hoyt (Ashley) said;

"Everyone knows Bristol has a broken public transport system.   It is fantastic that there is a real cross party agreement of our need for an ITA."

“The involvement of Charlotte Leslie MP is particularly welcome.  We look forward to all political parties, MPs, transport groups and the Evening Post working together across the whole region to persuade those councillors not yet convinced of the need for an ITA, that strong local public support for it now exists."
