Thornbury  and Yate is a new parliamentary constituency in South Gloucestershire. It consists of the wards of Alveston, Boyd Valley, Charfield, Chipping Sodbury, Cotswold Edge, Dodington, Frampton Cotterell, Ladden Brook, Severn, Thornbury North, Thornbury South, Westerleigh, Yate Central, Yate North and Yate West.

Thornbury and Yate mostly covers the more rural parts in the north of South Gloucestershire, to the north of the new Filton and Bradley Stoke constituency and the Bristol urban area. Thornbury and Yate are the main towns in the constituency, which also includes Chipping Sodbury and Frampton Cotterell. The rest of South Gloucestershire is covered by the constituencies of Filton and Bradley Stoke (the urban areas to the south of Thornbury and Yate and north of Bristol) and Kingswood (the urban areas to the east of Bristol).

Thornbury and Yate is under pressure from developers, because of the M4 and M5 going through the constituency. South Gloucestershire has recently seen widespread development of houses and jobs around the north of the Bristol urban area. The growth of the population has led to the creation of the two new constituencies of Thornbury and Yate and Filton and Bradley Stoke, which have replaced the old constituency of Northavon.
