Hunt supporters really care about ... hunting - Charlie Bolton, 1 January 2005

To: Western Daily Press

Dear Sir

D Goodman seems to hold a bizarre belief that hunt supporters really care about animals (letters, Western Daily press, 31st December). Well, hang on, surely the aim of hunting is precisely to kill foxes? And I'm sure I have heard hunt supporters say that a ban on hunting will mean they will also kill their own hounds.

Then what are those other great Countryside Alliance supported pursuits? Shooting (ie killing birds) and fishing (ie killing fish). At least farming (ie killing pigs, sheep, chickens and turkeys) is aimed at producing food, even if it is an inefficient way of doing it.

Well, I am sure that some people may be convinced by Mr Goodman's argument, but not me.

I for one am extremely pleased that hunting is likely to be banned, and should hunt supporters defy such a ban - well, lock 'em up.

Yours

Charlie Bolton
