Climate Change Petition - Charlie Bolton, 4 October 2006

To: Evening Post

Dear Sir/Madam

Some of you will be aware that Friends of the Earth have been lobbying for the adoption of a Climate Change bill, which seeks 3% year on year cuts in greenhouse gas emissions.

I want Bristol City Council to support this bill. As such, I have put a motion to the next fuill council meeting asking them to support it, and to lobby for its inclusion in the Queens speech next month.

If you are sympathetic to this aim, could or I ask for your support. I have set up an electronic petition on the City Council's website at http://www.bristol-city.gov.uk/item/epetitionview.html?PetitionID=149. Please sign up.

Climate change is the big issue of our time. And we need to take any measure we can to limit its impact.

Yours,

Charlie Bolton

Green Party councillor for Southville
