Northavon Green Party covers the area of the parliamentary constituency of Northavon in South Gloucestershire. This includes the wards of Almondsbury, Alveston, Badminton, Charfield, Chipping Sodbury, Dodington North, Frampton Cotterell Central, Frampton Cotterell East, Frampton Cotterell West, Hawkesbury, Iron Acton, Marshfield, Oldbury-on-Severn, Olveston, Pilning and Severn Beach, Pucklechurch, Thornbury North, Thornbury South, Westerleigh and Coalpit Heath, Wick and Abson, Wickwar, Winterbourne, Winterbourne Down and Hambrook, Winterbourne Frenchay, Yate Central, Yate North, Yate South, Yate Stanshawes and Yate West. Northavon mostly covers the more rural parts of South Gloucestershire, mostly to the north and east of Bristol. The towns in Northavon include some historic market towns, such as Thornbury and Chipping Sodbury, commuter towns such as Almondsbury and towns with significant employment, such as Yate. Northavon is under pressure from developers, because of the M4 and M5 going through the constituency. South Gloucestershire has recently seen widespread development of houses and jobs around the north of the Bristol urban area, and the area of Northavon constituency has contracted as the population expanded. We stand candidates at South Gloucestershire elections and parish elections in Northavon. South Gloucestershire is all elected in one big election each four years. The next such election is due in May 2007. Boundary changesThe constituency of Northavon is scheduled to be replaced before the next general election by two constituencies, as follows: THORNBURY AND YATE CONSTITUENCY.
