If I am elected I will campaign for:
- I will engage with the Council on the many suggestions for improvement it has received from residents with regards to the newly introduced Residential Parking Zones. There is a concern that the Council is not listening to perfectly actionable suggestions for improvements.
- At a city level, in line with Green Party policy, if I am elected I will campaign for a local transport authority to cater for Bristol and its commuter belt. This could mean the restoration of an Avon Transport authority, resulting in improved provision, through ticketing and an Oyster card type scheme.
- With the arrival of the Metrobus scheme locally in the next five years, many of the bus services that currently serve Hotwell Road will be rerouted along Cumberland Road. We need to ensure that Metrobus does not mean a loss of public transport on the Hotwell Road.
- I will consult widely on the best location for the new Ashton station when the Portishead to Temple Meads railway line opens. Locating the station as closely as possible to the Clifton area will increase the benefit to local people including traders.
